I am writing to formally request your approval for an extended leave of absence for my annual vacation. I have not taken any major time off from work this year and with your permission, I would like to take a two-week vacation from October 1, 2050, to October 15, 2050. I feel that this time off would allow me to recharge and return to work with renewed vigor and enthusiasm.

During my absence, my colleague, Martin Smith, is prepared to assume my responsibilities. He is well-versed in my daily tasks and will ensure that all work continues seamlessly during this period. Upon my return, I will make sure to catch up on any missed updates to ensure no disruption occurred due to my absence.
