How to Make Wine Labels in InDesign?

A study in the wine industry predicts that millennials will become the largest wine-consuming generation by the year 2026. Well, we can't just wait for 2026 to come to excite the wine industry! We can start now. But before that, how we label our wine bottles will make a huge impact on our products to be known. Our wine labeling will reflect our brand and industry, so we need fine-looking and beautiful wine labels. So, if you want to start making useful wine labels for your wine bottles, here are some steps for you:

1. Make It Define Your Brand

Your wine label should reflect your brand. The look of your label should emphasize your product. Make sure that by just looking at the wine labeling, the people or customers can recognize and distinguish your brand from others. You can make it look modern or vintage, it's really up to your choice. Invest in the beauty of your wine bottle labels, so never settle for dull-looking wine bottle packaging design.

2. Add Your Content

When you label the wine bottle, there are steps to be followed. The first one is to provide the producer of the wine. You should include who produced the product. Secondly, you need to include the region of origin. Add the area that created the product. This is important to let the customer where the product was produced. Moreover, you should include the name of the bottler. Then add where that bottler is from and its state.

3. Add Alcohol Content

Include alcohol content when labeling the wine bottle. Alcohol content on your wine label is a must. This will help consumers decide if they will buy the product or not. You should follow the guidelines from the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB). TTB says that your alcohol content should be expressed through percentage. Alcohol (ALC.) and volume (VOL.) should be in percentage.

4. Choose A Wine Label Template

Whether you are making homemade or company brands for your wine, it is better to choose a wine bottle label template. Having templates around will definitely make your work easier. All you will need to do is to edit and customize your template. After, you have your template, open Adobe InDesign. This software has features that are effective for making wine labels, beer labels, water bottle labels, a menu, a poster, a brochure, or a newsletter.

5. For Customized Wine Labels

Moreover, this section is for the people who are not making wine labels for business. If you are just customizing wine labels for an event like a birthday or a wedding, all you need to do is to make them look relevant to the event. Add striking and attractive designs. Still, use InDesign to edit your wine label templates. Then, include the details that you want to add as your wine label.

6. Print Your Wine Label

You need to print your wine labels with adhesive paper which are the perfect fit for your wine bottles. After printing, you may now stick the labels to the wine bottles.
