How to Create a Printable Envelope
Making your own envelope is easy as long as you have the materials and the ability to do origami. All you need to think about will be the envelope sizes and format. Worry no more because we will be providing you steps and patterns in making an envelope. Just follow the five steps below.
1. Know your Purpose
In order for your envelope to be pretty and suits what is inside of it, you need to know what is inside the envelope all about. There are a lot of things that can be inside of an envelope, it can be money, cash, certificate, personal or business letters. The content of the letter should coincide with the envelope design so that by just looking at the sample envelope, the recipient will already know what is inside of it.
2. Determine the Size
The envelope size matters, because it will depend on the size of the paper that will be inside the envelope. The common sizes are 3-1/2 inches high x 5 inches long x 0.007 inches thick for mailing envelopes, business envelopes are 1/8" by 9 1/2", and mini envelopes are 2 1/2" x 4 1/4". It all depends on you and the letter of the envelope that will be incasing to, you can also look for DIYs envelopes if you want references.
3. Choose a Color and Design
If your letter is not for business transactions, then this part will be interesting. You can be creative as much as you want by customizing your own color for the envelope. Designing it will also make it more pretty. You can place caligraphy, kawaii, clipart, and elegant designs. But if you are making business or interoffice envelopes, it is advisable to stick with the old type of envelope like the brown and white envelopes.
4. Place the Logo
This step is good for business envelopes because placing the logo will make it look professional and credible for your clients. Placing your logo on the envelope will help the recipient easily recognize where the letter came from. As for the envelopes that are not involved in any business transactions, you can put a wax seal on the letter to make it look more elegant.
5. Print then Fold
After following all the steps above, it is now time for your envelope to be printed and folded. Print it in a high-quality paper so that the designs of the envelope will remain.
