Small

Small flash and small QT videos have SD dimensions of 320 x 240 pixels (or 8.46 x 6.35 cm, or 3.33 x 2.5 in.) and HD dimensions of 320 x 180 pixels (or 8.46 x 4.76 cm, or 3.33 x 1.87 in.). Small flash videos can be downloaded in .flv file format while small QT videos can be downloaded on .mov file type. 

Medium

Some common examples of medium size videos are video podcasts, medium MPEG-1, and medium flash videos which all have SD dimensions of 640 x 480 pixels and HD dimensions of 640 x 360 pixels. Video podcasts can be downloaded in .m4v file format, medium MPEG-1 videos are available in .mpeg format, while medium flash videos can be saved in .flv format. 

Large

Large QT videos have SD dimensions of 768 x 576 pixels and HD dimensions of 720 x 405 pixels which can be downloaded in .mov format. While broadcast SD videos have SD dimensions of 768 x  576 pixels with a 4:3 interlaced aspect ratio, and HD dimensions of 720 x 576 pixels or an aspect ratio of 16:9 anamorphic as it plays full screen on a 16:9 display, can be downloaded in .mxf and. avi format.

HD

Generally used for a crystal clear viewing experience, there are different types of HD or high definition videos such as Apple TV Preview, Full HD Preview 1080p, and Full HD Broadcast 1080p. These videos have varying dimensions: HD & Apple TV Preview have 1280 x 720 pixels, Full HD Preview 1080p have 1920 x 1080 pixels and Full HD Broadcast 1080p have 1440 x 1080 and 1920 x 1080 pixels.

Ultra HD

Some types of ultra HD or ultra high definition videos are 4K Ultra HD Preview H.265 and 44K Ultra HD Broadcast videos. They have similar dimensions of 3840 x 2160 pixels (or 101.6 x 57.15 cm, or 40 x 22.5 in.).

Dome

Some types of dome-size videos are full-dome preview, full-dome 1.5k mov, and full-dome 2k master videos. Full-dome 1.5k mov videos have standard dimensions of 1536 x 1536 pixels, while full-dome 2k master videos have standard dimensions of 2048 x 2048 pixels as they are only used for the planetarium.

Facebook

If you need to create a shared video post for your Facebook page, the recommended video dimension is 1280 x 720 pixels (landscape aspect ratio: 16:9; square aspect ratio: 9:16). For 360° videos in the Facebook Feeds, the best video size setting for monoscopic videos is 5120 pixels wide by 2560 pixels tall, with an aspect ratio of 2:1, and the standard video size setting for stereoscopic videos is 5120 pixels wide by 5120 pixels tall, an aspect ratio of 1:1.

Instagram

Instagram feed videos have the standard size of 1080 x 1080 pixels, with a landscape aspect ratio of 1.9:1, or square aspect ratio of 1:1, or a vertical aspect ratio of 4:5. For carousel video ads, the recommended video size is 1080 x 1080 pixels as well, while IGTV videos must have dimensions of 1080 x 1920 pixels (with a horizontal aspect ratio of 16:9 or a vertical aspect ratio of 9:16).

There are some standard video sizes for PowerPoint if you need to create some presentations for your project or work. For standard video with a resolution of 480p, the recommended PowerPoint video size is 852 x 480 pixels (or 22.54 x 12.7 cm. or 8.87 x 5 in.).
