Job Description:
GracefulHaven Community Church is currently seeking a diligent Church Custodian to perform a variety of cleaning, maintenance, and organizational tasks to keep our facilities in the best condition possible. This position requires a reliable and meticulous individual who is capable of working with minimal supervision. The right candidate will ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the church premises, contributing positively to our congregation's experience.
Responsibilities and Duties:
The Church Custodian's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Performing daily cleaning and sanitizing of all church areas, including the sanctuary, restrooms, fellowship hall, and classrooms.

Carrying out maintenance tasks and minor repairs as necessary, such as changing light bulbs or fixing leaks.

Emptying and cleaning trash receptacles regularly.

Assisting in setting up and tearing down equipment for church events and activities.

Ensuring the upkeep of outdoor areas, including walkways, parking lots, and landscaping.

Maintaining security by ensuring all doors and windows are locked after church services and events.
Qualifications and Skills:
The ideal candidate should have:

High school diploma or equivalent; previous experience in custodial or maintenance role is preferred.

Proven ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks.

Strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Excellent time management skills and flexibility to adjust schedule according to church events.
