Job Summary

We are currently looking for an experienced and motivated Payroll Specialist to join our hardworking team. The Payroll Specialist will be a key individual who will manage all aspects of payroll processing and be fully accountable for its accuracy and timeliness. You will ensure compliance with regulatory concerns and report on any irregularities or issues related to payroll.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage payroll processing schedule and ensure deadlines are met

  • Execute payroll operations with accuracy and attention to detail

  • Handle payroll inquiries from employees and management

  • Maintain and update payroll information by managing payroll control records

  • Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages

  • Detect and handle discrepancies and irregularities

  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field

  • At least three years of experience in payroll

  • Strong understanding of local, state, and federal payroll regulations

  • Proficiency in MS Office and payroll software programs

  • Excellent numerical abilities and attention to detail

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Experience

Candidates must have at least 3 years of payroll experience and thorough knowledge of payroll systems and procedures.

Additional Requirements

A certification from the American Payroll Association (APA) is highly desired. Must effectively team with finance, HR, and other departments as needed.
