Job Title: Election Clerk
An Election Clerk is the backbone of the voting process, ensuring that the rights and voices of citizens are honored and counted accurately. He/she is in charge of registering voters, setting up polling sites, verifying voter identities, and processing votes. This role plays a pivotal part in the democratic process, and maintains integrity, accuracy, and transparency at all times.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Register voters and provide them with on-site instructions.
Set up and manage polling stations to ensure they function efficiently.
Verify the identity of voters and handle any registration issues.
Process votes accurately and reliably.
Address voter inquiries and concerns professionally and promptly.
Ensure all election materials and equipment are in good working condition.
Maintain strict confidentiality of voter information and vote counts.
Skills and Competencies:
Basic computer skills for data entry.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
An eye for detail and accuracy.
Exceptional organizational and multitasking capabilities.
Strong understanding of the election process and regulations.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent required, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Prior work experience in a related field is a plus but not mandatory.
Additional Requirements:
Must be of impeccable character.
Ability to work extended hours and weekends, especially during election periods.
Must pass a background check.
