Job Title: Election Clerk

An Election Clerk is the backbone of the voting process, ensuring that the rights and voices of citizens are honored and counted accurately. He/she is in charge of registering voters, setting up polling sites, verifying voter identities, and processing votes. This role plays a pivotal part in the democratic process, and maintains integrity, accuracy, and transparency at all times.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Register voters and provide them with on-site instructions.

  • Set up and manage polling stations to ensure they function efficiently.

  • Verify the identity of voters and handle any registration issues.

  • Process votes accurately and reliably.

  • Address voter inquiries and concerns professionally and promptly.

  • Ensure all election materials and equipment are in good working condition.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of voter information and vote counts.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Basic computer skills for data entry.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • An eye for detail and accuracy.

  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking capabilities.

  • Strong understanding of the election process and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Prior work experience in a related field is a plus but not mandatory.

  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends, especially during election periods.

  • Must pass a background check.
