We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team at [Your Company Name]. Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management: Prepare accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow statements.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts. Analyze financial discrepancies and recommend effective resolutions.
Client Billing: Oversee client billing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in the issuance of invoices and the reconciliation of client accounts.
Tax Compliance: Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax requirements. Work with external auditors and tax advisors as necessary.
Payroll Processing: Manage payroll processing and ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and company contributions.
Financial Policies and Procedures: Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and internal controls.
Account Reconciliation: Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
Reporting: Provide regular reports to management on the financial status of the firm, highlighting areas of concern and suggesting improvements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar certification is strongly preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial principles specific to the legal industry.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
Work Conditions:
Standard office hours, Monday to Friday, with additional hours as needed to meet business deadlines.
