At the top of the organizational chart of Deutsche Telekom AG is the Supervisory Board, which provides strategic oversight, approves major decisions and ensures compliance with governance standards. Directly below that is the Board of Management (executive management), which leads the Group, sets corporate strategy and directs the major business segments. On the third level the company is structured into operating segments and Group functions: for example, the Germany operating segment, the United States operating segment, the Europe and Systems Solutions segment, the Group Development segment, plus the Group Headquarters & Group Services unit. At the fourth level each of these segments and functions has further subdivisions—such as regional business units, product and service divisions, technology and innovation units, customer-facing sales channels, network operations, IT & security functions and shared services—that report into the segment heads or functional leads and execute the detailed operational activities of the Group.
