At the top of the organizational structure of Wells Fargo & Company sits the Board of Directors, which oversees governance, strategic direction and enterprise risk management. Immediately beneath the Board is the Chief Executive Officer, who leads the company’s overall strategy, operations and reports directly to the Board. On the third level are the senior executive leadership and operating committee members who lead major lines of business and functional areas such as Consumer & Small Business Banking, Commercial Banking, Wealth & Investment Management, Wholesale Banking, Technology & Innovation, Risk & Compliance and other corporate functions. At the fourth level the company is organized into business unit heads and regional or functional divisional leaders—these include the heads of regional markets, product group leaders, functional unit presidents (e.g., operations, finance, digital channels) and branch network leadership—all of whom report into the third-level executives to execute strategy, manage performance, and ensure alignment across the firm’s national and global operations.
