How To Create a Quotation in Microsoft Word [Template + Example]

Construction quotations are defined as a written proposals or written estimate given by construction companies or contractors to their clients to outline the scope of work, specifications, materials, and labor costs to complete a project. Quotations are important when you need to know how much a project will cost.

Create a Quotation in Microsoft Word Step-by-Step Instructions

In order to get a good idea of how much is needed to make the project, construction companies often hand in a construction quotation or a proposal to their clients. Here is how you can make a quotation through Microsoft Word.

Step 1: Select the Template to Download

Go to Template.net and type in “construction quotations” in your search bar and click enter. You will be presented with a wide variety of construction quotation templates you can choose from.

Step 2: Select Download Option

On the right hand side of the screen, you will see “download template” and four different sets of download options. Choose Microsoft Word as the download file format to edit the template.

Step 3: Open Template in Microsoft Word

In your downloads folder, look for the construction quotation template and open it through Microsoft Word. Once there, you will see the same picture as the one above, and before you start to edit, make sure to check if all the pages are complete. 

Step 4: Insert the Logo by Clicking on “Insert Picture”

To insert the company logo to Microsoft Word, look for the “insert” button and below that you will find different sets of options. Look for “insert picture”, click on the button and you will be directed to your download folder where you can simply choose and it will automatically insert the company logo from there. 

Step 5: Start Editing by Adding the Necessary Details

The yellow highlights are your guide to filling out the necessary details to complete your construction quotation. Make sure that you fill everything out correctly and avoid any erasures. 

Step 6: Fill Out the Numbers in the Corresponding Tables

For a construction quotation, it is expected to have tables that you need to fill out with the correct details. Fill out what is being asked and place it on the correct row or column. 

Step 7: Save and Print Your Construction Quotations

When everything is all settled and you have changed all the necessary details to make it true to yours, save them. To print, click on Ctrl+P in your keyboard.
