How to write a great Cover Letter?

For a good impression, you should definitely end up writing proper and professional stuff. Jot down the key points of the letter and bind them effectively. Yes, of course, you should browse templates and ideas before writing it down.

The way of presenting yourself with a cover letter should be good enough to grab the reader’s attention. Try to convince them that you hold a different place amongst the crowd for getting this job and you won’t let anyone down.

Advice & Tips for good cover letter

The moment you start writing, either you have plenty of things to pen down or you have to Google it. It’s automatic to question whether it is so important to have an additional cover letter? Or, does anyone read these?

Well yes! Adding to your knowledge, cover letter matters a lot. In fact, many recruiters and managers entirely focus on them.

How to write an impressive cover letter?

An impressive cover letter should be short, to the point and grammatical error-free. Here is a format you can stick to:

  • know exactly whom you are writing this to and for what
  • introducing yourself
  • give reasons why you are fit for mentioned job
  • focused and hit with the right skills
  • avoid flattering and
  • be formal

The best way to get the attention of the employer is to focus on the things you can do for the company. When it comes to the experience and background, many of you start elaborating about the educational degrees. This will just not prove to be a plus point in your letter. At the end of the day, the hiring manager will look for your work experience and how you can uplift the company.

In case you are just a common job seeker or you don’t have a qualifying work experience, don’t hesitate. Instead of counting your weakness try to put your best foot forward, showcase your skills and strengths.

Cover Letter Format

A cover letter follows more or less the same format as an application letter. The cover letter is divided into three sections: The Opening of the letter, the Body of the letter and the Closing of the letter. It should start with a salute and move on to the Subject and then the body. The date should be written on the right-hand top corner. And make sure to finish off with an appropriate signing off.

Opening of the Letter

The opening of the letter is very important. It includes your introduction & the reason of applying for the job. Here you will have to be very careful with what you write. It should be crisp and to the point. Don’t beat around the bush.

Body of the Paragraph

It discusses your skills, work experiences and relevant qualifications. Here you have to focus on your past work experiences and your additional skills which relate to the job. Up till here, you must gain the confidence of the hiring manager to give you the job.

Closing of the letter

This part thanks the reader for giving time to the letter, provides contact information and follow-up details and asks for future action of an interview.
