The holiday season is about to end. You just finished celebrating Christmas, and now it's time to start preparing for your New Year's Eve party. Different countries may have different New Year traditions. But one thing is for sure, we all want to party. To get the word out about your upcoming event, use party flyers. When people see a flyer about an event, they will surely get excited to come to your party.

Adobe Illustrator is used by many artists and designers to create everything, from logos and icons to posters and flyers. With Illustrator, creating flyers is quick and easy. With just a few clicks of the mouse, you can create an elegant and attractive flyer for your event. Follow the guide below on how you can create a New Year flyer in Illustrator.

1. Pick the right Size

Open Adobe Illustrator and create a new document. When it comes to flyers, the standard size is (US) 8.5” x 11” and (A4) 8.3” x 11.7” inches. What you choose will depend on how much information do you need to put on the flyer. You have to think about the design elements and the layout that you're going for. To set the size, select File/Document Setup, then change the values and choose your desired aspect ratio, hit Ok to save the changes.

2. Choose a Theme

The theme of your flyer should match the theme of your party. For instance, you're going for a disco setup, the look of your party flyer should scream disco. But if you're going for a fine dining event, then make sure that your flyer looks classy and elegant. If you're planning to light some fireworks, then add a fireworks graphics. You just have to make sure that the elements you incorporate go together with your theme and event.

3. Include Photos

Adding eye-catching images to your flyer would make it look more attractive. Photos put color to your flyer, so you no longer have to put design elements. However, you have to make sure that your photos are of high-quality, or else it would look pixelated once printed out. To add photos in your document in Illustrator, click File/Document Setup, locate and select the image you want to add, then click Place.

4. Insert Text

The text you insert must answer all the information your party-goers should know. This includes what the party is all about, the location of the party, and the exact date and time of the party. Use typography for your text. Make sure that the font size is readable. To save time and avoid yourself from the hassle of creating a flyer from scratch, use our printable flyer templates.
