1. Begin With the Header
This is the section that the eyes of potential employers will go straight to in order to identify the person the document belongs to. Also, you should consider including a 2-by-2 picture of yourself so that can easily be identified and remembered. Just make sure that the image is of high quality.
2. Make Your Summary
The summary is supposed to contain a few brief sentences that explain what type of job you are looking for and what your work experience and skills are. Remember that you shouldn't go too deep into anything here as you'll be saving that for the other sections in your sample resume. You can also use the summary to share what your ideal working conditions are, but make sure not to let that be the main focus.
3. Share Your Work History and Skills
If you have accumulated a lot of working experience, then you should consider a chronological format which shows what jobs you've held. Start the list with your most recent one and work all the way down towards the very first. Always include the company's logo, the title of the position you held, and the year that you started and finished for each item on the list. If you feel that your skills should be focused on instead, then go with the functional format. How you go about this is by providing detailed descriptions of what it is that you can do that makes you the perfect choice for the job you've applied. Make sure to only include those skills that are relevant to the position you are aiming for.
4. Provide Your Education
Many employers will go through this to see if you've met the educational requirements that are necessary for certain positions. All you have to do is to make a list of the educational institutions that you have attended and provide the year in which you graduated from each of them. In the event that you took part in any training programs or courses that gave you the skills and knowledge necessary for an accountant, then include those into the resume as well.
5. List Down Any Accomplishments You've Made
If there are any accountancy-related accomplishments you have made, then be sure to include those into the document. You can be specific by placing the year in which you were awarded and who gave you the award. It's best that you don't include any achievement certifications that have nothing to do with accounting as those will most likely be skipped by potential employers.
6. Explain Any of Your Hobbies and Personal Interests
This is the chance for you to show your potential employer what kind of employee you will be and what kind of personality you'll be showing in the workplace if you're hired. Make sure that you only share those hobbies and personal interests that have helped you grow and develop as a person and the ones that have helped you become a professional accountant.
