How to Create a Corporate Business Card?
Even with the rise of technology, business cards are still used by professionals because of its ease and simplicity. In fact, 27 million business cards (e.g., visiting cards, multipurpose business cards, consulting business cards, fashion business cards, and wedding business cards) are printed daily which amounted to 10 billion business cards annually.
If you are a CEO or a business owner, or soon to be one, then you should start creating your own corporate business card today. Below we have provided you with five easy ways to do so.
1. Open a Program
Mind you, you don’t have to be an expert in graphic design to create your business card. Aside from creative business card templates you can download on this site, there are also several programs that would allow you to create one. You can use Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Publisher, Apple Pages, and even Microsoft Word to make one. If you have one of these programs installed on your computer, then you’re good to go. After launching a program, select a size for your card. The standard size for business cards is 3.5 inches by 2 inches, which sometimes include an extra 1/8 inch for bleed area.
2. Select Colors
Whatever style you want to give to the card, may it be modern, contemporary, elegant, classic, or minimalistic, choose the right colors and fonts. If you want it clean and simple, you can opt for a white background paired with gold. If you want it sophisticated and classic, there’s no better color than black. Using complementary colors such as blue and orange or red and green will also make your business card look creative. Keep in mind that the final outcome should appear professional and stylish at the same time.
3. Type Details
Before you start typing the necessary details, make sure that you have already chosen the right fonts. Bear in mind that legibility is the most important thing in selecting a font. Also, avoid using more than two fonts for your printable business card to maintain its professional look. You can use different font sizes though to guide the reader from the most important information to the not so important ones. For the details, make sure you include your name, the company’s name, address, contact numbers, email, and website. You can also add the company’s tagline.
4. Attach Logo
We recommend to include the logo of the company in your sample business card for the receiver to immediately recognize your company. If your card orientation is horizontal, it would be helpful to attach the logo on the left half since most people read from left to write. If it is vertical, then place it at the top of your card.
5. Save and Print
If you are contented with your design, review the details you input first then save your file. After which, find the best card stock for your simple business card, print it out, and give them to prospective customers and business partners.
