5 Steps to Write an Artist Invoice
Step 1: Mention Your Personal/Studio Details
In the first step put the key details of your studio or company on the top of the page. This includes the logo, name, address and tagline, if any. Make sure that the logo is clear and stands out from the rest of the text.
Step 2: Write the Artist’s and Buyer’s Details
Under the header, mention the artist and the buyer’s first and last names. If the artwork is being bought by an organization, then mention writing its address and contact information. This will be convenient for your record keeping and filing purposes.
Step 3: Description of the Piece Sold
Write down the physical description (dimensions, medium, art genre) and the name of the artwork in question. If you are writing a bill of sale for a service, like a nail salon or makeup artist’s, then mention the details of the service provided.
Step 4: Amount to Be Paid
In this part, clearly mention the final payable amount, including the tax applicable and other costs, that you are charging the buyer for. State the payment method(s) which you will accept for the same. Put neat guidelines for when you expect the payment to be completed.
Step 5: Write the Additional Terms
This is where you mention any terms or conditions on the sale that the buyer should be aware of. We recommend that you put a seal of authenticity to certify the sale. To close the document, add the artist’s seal and signature at the bottom of the page, to lend a sense of uniqueness to the invoice.
